Sustainable Life and Green Future Association (SYGD) is an organization that aims to provide social, educational and economic empowerment to its target groups headquartered in Ankara.
SYGD is an institution with a high concentration of Middle East Technical University graduates.
SYGD has great experience in adult education with its previous projects. SYGD has high number of volunteers, especially in agriculture and green works. They organize activities that reach hundreds of thousands of people every year with the support of the municipalities. The association attaches importance to gender equality and there are usually women in the management of the association. There are 16 members on the board of directors of the association and there are 65 of members in total. The target groups of the association are youth, disadvantaged social groups, women, migrants and refugees.
Fields of activity of the association:
- Developing adult people active citizenship, entrepreneurial skills and key competences
- Developing creativity and art skills of adult learners, especially with fewer opportunities. The main focuses are music, theatre, painting and photography
- Encouraging and training volunteers into digital social entrepreneurship
- Supporting rural development (livestock and farming activities)
- Developing social inclusion activities
- Promoting digital transition of adult education and developing digitized non-formal methods
- Supporting fundamental rights and freedoms
- Supporting lifelong learning activities and making them more involved in social life
- To create awareness and work on environmental problems and green future at social and institutional level
- To carry out joint studies with people and institutions working in the specified fields
- To create works that provide solidarity and solidarity during social events and natural disasters
- To prepare policy proposals on adult people’s trainings and environmental problems
To increase intercultural dialogue and interaction with international studies SYGD considers the most important resource in its work as people. Therefore, it focuses on fundamental rights and freedoms, entrepreneurship, adult education, women’s studies, climate change, rural development, environmental problems, culture and arts, education, lifelong learning and personal development.
The association encourages its members and volunteers to gain experience with non-formal education methods. SYGD carries out volunteering activities abroad by making partnership agreements in order to be active at the international level.
SYGD brings together adult learners/volunteers with experience in the field of Erasmus+ adult education and enthusiastic volunteers ready to change the world. The members of the board of directors have extensive experience in Erasmus + ADU projects and are determined to expand the network of communication and cooperation in this direction.
SYGD members and volunteers organize many training courses, seminars and participate as participants with the understanding of producing sustainable projects. SYGD is gaining more and more experience in drafting, organizing, and delivering different types of projects and events. In addition, there is a high capacity in technical works such as coordination of projects, preparation of participants, logistics operations and dissemination activities.
SYGD derives its strength from the competencies of its members in their profession and previous experiences. These qualifications bring along national and international links with various public institutions, private sector enterprises and representatives, NGOs and other associations.
